- I am your personal healthcare consultant, navigator, and advocate. You are my client.
- I am not your doctor. I cannot diagnose, prescribe, or treat your medical condition or sickness, whether physical or mental.
- Our sessions happen on Zoom.
- I communicate directly and efficiently. I am also a good listener.
- I’ll tell you if I don’t know something and I’ll find out the answer.
- During our meetings, I will teach you about your medical condition and help you to understand your test results and treatments. I will assist you to formulate questions for your healthcare providers and help you understand the answers. We may identify disconnects or oversights for you to bring to your doctors’ or case managers’ attention. I can teach you how to choose doctors and hospitals and create strategy for navigating healthcare and insurance obstacles. Our sessions will empower you to advocate for the best possible care.
- During the term of this agreement, you will remain under the care of the your personal physician and other healthcare providers. You will always adhere to their recommendations.
- I can review medical records and photos. I can also make introductory phone calls to new physicians.
- Appointments are made over my website by email and confirmed by email.
- I cannot respond to emergencies. Call 911 if you think you are experiencing a medical emergency.
- My consulting fee is $90 for each 15 minutes. Each meeting is a minimum of 15 minutes and additional is time rounded up to the next quarter hour. (Most initial meetings require 30 – 60 minutes and follow up meetings usually take 15 – 30 minutes.) I charge the same rate for offline research, reviewing records, or phone calls.
- Before our first session, I will ask you to sign and return a client services agreement/relationship letter.
- Sessions cancelled with less than 24-hour notice will be charged for the full time scheduled.
- Our first 15-minute session is free so we can get to know each other.
