Dr. Darryl Werner has been an incredible resource while my dad needed care, and I honestly don’t know what we would’ve done without him. He was kind, patient, and always took the time to explain everything in a way we could understand—even during some really tough moments.
What really stood out was how much he genuinely cared. He listened and dug deep into my dad’s medical history to help provide the best support throughout the entire process.

As founder and sole owner of a business I started in 1998, I am usually the one solving everyone’s problems. However, when it comes to medicine, this is an arena for which I have no specialized knowledge and must trust my doctors to proffer sage advice. This is why I was shocked when I discovered the physician at the prominent urgent care hospital in my area recommended expensive, medically unnecessary treatments.
The person who helped me was Dr. Werner. Without his kind and generous counsel, I never would have known how to contest my outrageous medical bill or the fact that I should or could contest it at all. He swooped in like guardian angel to not only teach me about my wounds and suggested treatment options to discuss with my doctor. Specifically, to inquire about an inexpensive ointment and a compression sleeve (as opposed to the $3k CT scan, $800 bandages, and $1700 wound care appointment this hospital billed me and my PPO). After my doctor agreed to my suggestions, my knee wound healed up in no time. Dr Werner illuminated how I could contest my medically unnecessary bills and summon Blue Cross to advocate for me as otherwise I am but David battling Goliath.
The relief I felt when Dr. Werner swooped into my life and illuminated what I could do to advocate for myself instead of becoming a hostage to a hospital who puts profits over people cannot be measured. We need more people like Dr. Werner in this world who use their specialized knowledge so the rest of us don’t get taken advantage of. I cannot thank him enough.

We came to Dr. Werner feeling confused and beaten up by the medical system. My mother developed a severe recurring infection after a knee replacement, had seen multiple specialists but couldn’t get out of reverse. Dr. Werner took one look at the blood work and noticed that which multiple specialists didn’t – glucose was high and her hemoglobin was low. He recommended that we bring these problems to her primary care physician and also that we work with a wound center to wrap the knee in such a way that it would start healing. He also coordinated with the specialists that my mother was seeing. Dr. Werner continued to review photos of my mother’s wound and her blood work results. Dr. Werner also suggested we discuss with my mother’s surgeon the option of delaying a 3rd and 4th surgery until the wound was fully healed. After 3 months of consulting with Dr. Werner and improved care from the treating doctors, mom was no longer anemic, the wound has completely healed and there were no signs of infection. His dedication to my mother’s healing, focus, analysis and strategy got her there.
